US Bank Ice Rink, Cincinnati, Ohio – located at Fountain Square, This year this popular rink is open from January 5th through February 14th. Fountain Square is more than just a rink. A historic site located in the heart of Cincinnati, the Fountain was dedicated in 1871. Completely renovated and rededicated in 2000, the Fountain Square and the rink are the place to be in this great city in winter. Amenities of the rink include rentals, concessions, coffee shops and nearby restaurants. The cost is $4.00 admission and $4.00 for skate rental.
Sun Valley Rink, Sun Valley, Idaho – one of only a few outdoor rinks which are open year round in the U.S. , this rink is popular for the novice and the expert and sees more than a few World Class and Olympic skaters. Providing skaters the opportunity to get lessons, just enjoy skating or even watch some of the best, it is also known for having some of the best views in the valley. The cost is $12 for adults, $10 for children and $5 for rentals. The rink is open daily from 10 am to 8 pm.
Trump Rink, New York City, New York – in case you are in New York City and don’t feel like waiting in the long lines for the rink at Rockefeller Center, you are not out of luck. Trump Rink may be lesser known, but that doesn’t make it less amazing. Featured in more than one movie, Trump Rink, located in Central Park is fun and beautiful and offers skating schools, free skates, and is even available for parties. A popular way to enjoy one of New York City’s most iconic destinations and some amazing views in winter.
McCormick Tribune Ice Rink, Chicago, Illinois – another of America’s most popular cities, Chicago is home to great food, amazing sites and even a fantastic ice rink. The McCormick Tribune Ice Rink in Millennium Park is the place to be in winter. Open from November to March 8, 2015, this rink has been drawing a crowd for over 14 years. Hosting more than 100,000 skaters a year, this rink is free! The cost of skate rental is $12.
The Depot Rink, Minneapolis, Minnesota – last on our list is the Depot Rink in downtown Minneapolis. It should come as no surprise that this rink is one of the oldest in the country. Built in 1899, the Depot began as simply a train depot until the lines were shut down in 1971. Today the Depot is home to two Marriott Hotels, event space, indoor water park and of course, the seasonal indoor skating rink. From the ice to the views to the concessions, this is the place to be in winter in Minneapolis.
